Our Robotics Program
Nine Levels. One Journey.
From first builds to competition-ready engineering: 8 classes per level, 72 classes of progression. Children advance by mastery, not age. Each level ends with a hands-on capstone where they earn their badge and unlock the next level.
Explorers
Building fundamentals: wheels, gears, levers, and strong structures. No coding yet, just confident hands and curious minds.
Mastery skills
- Build independently from visual instructions
- Name and use simple machines
- Explain how their own build works
Builders
Mechanisms mastery: bridges that hold weight, gear ratios, pulleys and cranes, and machines that move with purpose.
Mastery skills
- Build a stable, braced structure
- Use gearing to change speed or power
- Combine two mechanisms in one machine
Makers
Builds come to life with motors, powered vehicles, and a first taste of programming with simple icon blocks.
Mastery skills
- Connect and control a motor safely
- Program start, stop, and speed
- Build a motorized machine independently
Coders
True robot programming begins on the LEGO EV3. Build a driving base and command it with precision.
Mastery skills
- Program accurate straight drives
- Program reliable turns and routes
- Find and fix their own program bugs
Programmers
Robots gain senses: touch and color sensors, wait blocks, and loops that let programs run on their own.
Mastery skills
- Use touch and color sensors correctly
- Use wait blocks and loops with purpose
- Combine two sensors and a loop in one program
Inventors
Decision-making robots: if/then logic, distance sensing, and multi-sensor programs that react to the world.
Mastery skills
- Create if/then decisions with switch blocks
- Combine multiple sensors in one program
- Explain their program's logic step by step
Engineers
Autonomous robotics: line following, maze solving, and the real engineering cycle of build, test, fail, improve.
Mastery skills
- Tune a working line-following program
- Complete a fully autonomous run
- Improve a design from logged test results
Innovators
Advanced engineering: purpose-built attachments, clean reusable code, and precise multi-step missions.
Mastery skills
- Design and build a working attachment
- Organize code into reusable My Blocks
- Chain mission tasks into one reliable run
Masters
Competition readiness: mission strategy, consistent scoring runs, teamwork, and presenting to a judging panel.
Mastery skills
- Contribute to team mission strategy
- Deliver a robot design presentation
- Perform consistent runs under time pressure
Every child moves at their own pace
Class 8 of every level is a capstone challenge, a hands-on mastery assessment. Children who demonstrate the level's mastery skills earn their badge and advance. Lessons are tailored to each learner to ensure they get every support required to advance in their robotics journey. New students are placed by skill and will be supported to catch up on any skill sets needed to stay on track with their expected mastery level.
