How it works
From first class to weekly lessons in three simple steps.
Step 1
Free trial class
Pick a Saturday class shown in your own time zone. Your child learns, plays and has fun, with no experience needed.
Step 2
Personal coach feedback
After the class, we email you the coach's notes on your child's strengths and the right level to start at.
Step 3
Weekly one-on-one lessons
Choose a weekly time that suits your family, pick a coach, and pay online. We send a reminder before every lesson.

Placed by playing strength, not age
Each class is 1 hour. Kids move up a level at their own pace, once they've mastered it and reached its Elo rating. The rating guides below help you pick a starting point, and the free trial lets our coach confirm the fit. After the trial, you'll receive the coach's feedback, including which level is the right starting point.
Beginner
New to chess
Introduction to chess, how every piece moves, and capturing.
Kids learn the board, each piece's movement, capturing, check and checkmate, all through stories, puzzles and their first real games.
Intermediate 1
Up to 800 Elo
Plays chess already: opening principles and first tactics.
Control the centre, develop pieces, castle early, plus core tactics like pins, forks and skewers.
Intermediate 2
800–1000 Elo
Sharper tactics and cleaner calculation.
Tactical pattern training, avoiding blunders, and converting a material advantage into a win.
Intermediate 3
1000–1200 Elo
Positional ideas and planning.
Pawn structure, weak squares, and piece activity. Kids learn to make a plan, not just find a move.
Intermediate 4
1200+ Lichess rating
Advanced tactics and competitive play.
Calculation depth, attacking the king, defending worse positions, and rated-game preparation.
Advanced
Tournament players
In-depth strategy and endgame theory for tournament competitors.
Deep strategic play, classical endgame theory (king and pawn, rook endgames), opening repertoire building, and tournament preparation.
Don't know your child's rating? No problem: most kids don't have one yet. Book the free trial and our coach will recommend a level.
Live coaching
One-on-one classes built around your child. In every session they play, ask questions, and get direct feedback from their coach.

Pay by Interac e-Transfer (Canada) or by card from anywhere; a small card processing fee applies. Can't make a lesson? Give us 24 hours' notice and we'll arrange a make-up the same week.

Questions parents ask
Is the price per week or per month?
Per 4-week package: $80 CAD for 4 lessons (once a week) or $160 CAD for 8 lessons (twice a week). Each package runs for 4 weeks from your child's first lesson.
We live outside Canada. Can we join?
Yes! Families join from across Canada, the UK, Nigeria and Australia. Times are always shown in your own time zone, and you can pay by card from anywhere (Interac e-Transfer is available in Canada).
What does a lesson look like?
A live 1 hour online lesson with your child's coach, matched to their level, with puzzles, games and new ideas each week. You'll get a reminder with the join link 30 minutes before every lesson.
What age can children start?
From about 4 years old. Complete beginners are very welcome, and children are placed by playing strength, not age.
What if my child misses a lesson?
Email info@enablersolutions.ca at least 24 hours before it starts and we'll arrange a make-up lesson in the same week. Lessons missed without 24 hours' notice are counted as taken.
Can siblings join?
Yes. Each child has their own one-on-one lessons, and we can schedule them back to back on the same day.
