Placed by playing strength, not age
Every level is 8 classes of 1 hour each. Kids move up when they're ready. The rating guides below help you pick a starting point, and the free trial lets our coach confirm the fit.
Beginner
New to chess
Introduction to chess, how every piece moves, and capturing.
Kids learn the board, each piece's movement, capturing, check and checkmate, all through stories, puzzles and their first real games.
Intermediate 1
Up to 800 Elo
Plays chess already: opening principles and first tactics.
Control the centre, develop pieces, castle early, plus core tactics like pins, forks and skewers.
Intermediate 2
800–1000 Elo
Sharper tactics and cleaner calculation.
Tactical pattern training, avoiding blunders, and converting a material advantage into a win.
Intermediate 3
1000–1200 Elo
Positional ideas and planning.
Pawn structure, weak squares, and piece activity. Kids learn to make a plan, not just find a move.
Intermediate 4
1200+ Lichess rating
Advanced tactics and competitive play.
Calculation depth, attacking the king, defending worse positions, and rated-game preparation.
Advanced
Tournament players
In-depth strategy and endgame theory for tournament competitors.
Deep strategic play, classical endgame theory (king and pawn, rook endgames), opening repertoire building, and tournament preparation.
Don't know your child's rating? No problem: most kids don't have one yet. Book the free trial and our coach will recommend a level.
Live coaching
One-on-one classes built around your child. In every session they play, ask questions, and get direct feedback from their coach.
